데이터마이닝 연구실(Data Mining Lab)

Data sets with millions of records and thousands of fields are increasingly common in business, engineering, medicine, and the sciences. With the amount of data doubling every few years the problem of uncovering hidden patterns or extracting useful information from such data sets is becoming an important practical issue. Research on this topic focuses on key questions such as how can one build useful models which both allow us to make predictions and also aid us to figure out the underlying process of the data generation. Research projects in our lab use theories and techniques from the intersection of computer science, statistics, and mathematics, including foundational ideas from algorithmsartificial intelligencemultivariate data analysis, Bayesian estimation, and computational statistics (from statistics), and optimization and probability theory (from mathematics). Machine learning and pattern recognition, in particular, are central to our research, providing both a sound theoretical basis and a practical framework for developing useful data analysis algorithms. 

기술경영 연구실 (Technology Management(TM) Lab)

기술경영 연구실(Technology Management Lab.)은 차세대 성장동력 기술에 대한 탐색 및 예측을 통한 기술 및 R&D전략 수립, 보유기술에 대한 지적재산권 보호, 최첨단 기술과 연계된 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 개발 등 기술과 경영기법의 접목을 통한 기술의 효과적 운영을 위해 다양한 방법론들을 연구하고 있습니다. 또한 거시적인 차원에서 기술의 진화과정을 이해하고, 장기적인 경제성장과 기술의 역학관계를 분석하여 국가, 산업, 기업 등의 혁신시스템 내에서 기술의 역할과 운영에 대해 연구하고 있으며, 특히 최근의 서비스 경제 하에서 기술기반 지식서비스를 중심으로, 서비스 혁신의 특성을 이해하고 체계적인 기획 방법론을 개발하여 제품과 서비스, 기술의 공진화를 지원하는데 연구 역량을 집중하고 있습니다.

생산정보 연구실(Production Information system Lab)

The main focus of PIS(Production Information System) laboratory is to study reliability system about Electronic and mechanical parts such as DC-DC converters, LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes) and BLDC motors using Functional Safety and PHM(Prognostics and Health Management). The scope and main topic of PIS are as follows :

1. Hardware Reliability

- Electrical and electronic components such as LED(Light Emitting Diode), BLDC Motor and Driver

2. Functional Safety

- IEC 61508, ISO 26262

3. PHM(Prognostics and Health Management)

- Data Driven Approach

- Physics of Failure Based Approadh

- Hybrid Approach

캐드연구실 (Computer-Aided Design Lab)

The CAD Lab is an interdepartmental laboratory in the School of Engineering with four major goals:

- the development of various engineering oriented applications using commercial/open CAD APIs to the manufacturing enterprise

- the integration and synthesis of CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM/ERP systems

- the study of the fundamental principles of product lifecycle management (PLM) including geometry modeling, virtual reality application in design, and knowledge-based information system

- the education of creative programming engineers.

Since its establishment in 2006, the CAD Lab has grown to include 3 Ph.D. students, 4 M.S students, and 2 undergraduate students, who conduct research and educate in the areas of analysis and development of the design and information system. The laboratory seeks to establish a rational foundation for field oriented design/information system based on a systematic understanding of the complex interactions among the many areas of information technology.

인간공학 연구실(HTRC & Human Factors Lab)

휴먼인터렉션(Human Interaction)분야에 대한 진취적이고 역동적인 연구 수행과 프로젝트 실무를 통하여, 졸업 후 바로 전문산업 연구사회에 진출하여경쟁력을 인정받을 수 있고, 사회 발전에 공헌할 수 있는 고급 인력을 양성하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있으며, 인간공학/HCI 라는 공학적 접근방법을 통하여 제품, 작업, 직무, 기계, 방법, 기구, 환경, 등을 디자인하고 개선 함으로써 좀 더 쉽고 안전하게 작업과 서비스를 혁신하여 수행할 수 있도록 연구 개발을 추진한다.

UDM Lab (Unified Digital Manufacturing Lab)

- The UDM Lab is Unified Digital Manufacturing Research laboratory in the engineering faculty to obtain next three major goals:

1) Model a manufacturing System in the virtual space to forecast and find problems during building a real automation production system and manufacturing processing.

2) Reduce time and cost to construct an efficient and optimized manufacturing system.

3) Digitalize each three key factor, Product, Process, Resource and make a PPR tree which is fully integrated organically optimized.

 

- Major Researches:

1) I/O Simulator(Plant Model)

A. Virtualize a model to separate such a device, state, event, operation in entire systems.

B. Output as a chart of simulation results.

C. Simulate of a wide range of scenarios that can happen in the field without

the actual equipment.

2) Graphic Simulator

A. Implementation of realistic motion through kinematic input mechanism.

B. Robot control through the motion information obtained.

C. Improvement of existing facilities and new ideas derived 

IT 시스템 연구실(IT System Lab)

The IT System laboratory carries out basic/applied researches about embedded computing system design with high dependability and its performance analysis. The research interests of the lab. focus on embedded computing systems, including the topics: of dependability (software/hardware interoperability, software reliability), safety, fault-tolerant computing (fault detection/coverage), in-vehicle networks (CAN, CANopen, and FlexRay), and cloud computing (Hadoop distributed file system, MapReduce software framework).

정보경영연구실은 다양한 환경에서 발생하는 정보를 처리하고 가공하며 이를 이용하여 부가가치를 발생시킬 수 있는 산업시스템의 설계와 운용전반을 연구 영역으로 한다. 특히 이동통신 시스템 및 근거리 통신 시스템, 다층 네트워크 융합 및 네트워크 지원 정보의 처리를 중심으로 하여 다양한 복합 시스템의 최적 설계 및 운용 기술을 연구 개발한다.

웹기반 엔터프라이즈 시스템 연구실 (Web-enabled Enterprise Systems Lab)

The main focus of our laboratory is to solve complex problems that commonly occur in the enterprise systems. The scope of the enterprise systems is broad, including companies, corporations, organizations, and military and government agencies. Using the state-of-the-art industry equipment, such as web-accessible production facilities and simulation devices, the solutions are verified and validated up to the system’s level. The research activities have been funded by the Department of Education (USA), the National Science Foundation (USA), IBM (USA), Brown & Sharpe Company (USA), National Research Foundation (Korea), Agency for Defense Development (ADD, Korea), etc.

 모델링 및 시뮬레이션 연구실 (Modeling & Simulation Lab)

M&S Lab deals with the modeling of simulation of various systems including manufacturing systems (semiconductor, LCD, automobile and ship building industries), and weapon systems for defense. Currently, M&S Lab running multiple projects with major manufactures (DSME, HanKook Tire, Hyundai/Kia Motors, LG CNS) as well as the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) of Korea. Graduate students in the M&S Lab. can join various projects which they want to be involved.

시스템경영최적화 연구실 (System Management Optimization Lab)

제한된 자원을 가진 시스템의 운용과 관련된 의사결정 문제는 자원 운용의 논리적 정확성을 보장하는 논리적 제어(logical control)과 운용 성능을 보장하는 성능 제어(performance control)로 나눌 수 있으며, 이를 효율적으로 지원하기 위해서는 여러 가지 가용한 데이터를 체계적으로 분석하고 활용하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구실에서는 생산 및 정보 시스템의 운용과 관련된 여러 가지 최적화 문제를 이해하고 수학적으로 정형화된 모델을 세우고 분석함으로써, 최적의 대안을 제시할 수 있는 여러 가지 의사결정 방법론을 다룬다. 주요 응용 분야로는 반도체 및 LCD fab 스케줄링 문제, 클라우드 컴퓨팅에서의 수익관리(Revenue Management) 문제, 생산 시스템의 판매 및 운용 계획(Sales & Operations Planning) 등이 포함된다.

작업역학 연구실 (ErgoDynamics Lab)

ErgoDynamics Laboratory (ED Lab) performs research on work design, ergonomics, and product development to resolve the problems of industrial productivity, occupational safety, and product usability. As indicated in its name, ED Lab improves working methods of manufacturing and service industries, educates people in occupational safety programs, and creates user-friendly products by developing biomechanical knowledge on the basis of kinematics, kinetics, and electromyography. ED Lab, established in Industrial and Information Systems Engineering at Ajou University in 2005, has endeavored to conduct the world's best research with the best researchers.

제품품질설계연구실 (Product Quality Design Lab)

Our Lab studies about DFSS. DFSS is a separate and emerging business-process management methodology related to traditional Six Sigma. While the tools and order used in Six Sigma require a process to be in place and functioning, DFSS has the objective of determining the needs of customers and the business, and driving those needs into the product solution so created.
